Submissions are handled on each journal platform, not here. This page explains what we expect before you get there, and what happens once you have submitted.
Read the aims and scope on the journal page. A well-argued article sent to the wrong journal is still a desk rejection.
Follow the journal style guide, anonymise the file if the journal reviews double-blind, and check that every source in the text appears in the reference list.
Create an account on the journal site, upload your files and complete the metadata, including an abstract and keywords in English plus the language of the article.
The journal platform shows the status of your submission and carries all correspondence with the editors.
Submit original work that is not under consideration elsewhere. Name every person who meets the authorship criteria, and no one who does not. Declare funding and any interest that a reader might reasonably want to know about.
If you used a generative AI tool at any stage, say so in the methods or acknowledgements. AI tools cannot be listed as authors.
Where your article quotes material under copyright beyond fair dealing, obtain permission before submission and keep the documentation.
An editor screens each submission for scope, originality and basic scholarly soundness. Manuscripts that pass screening go to at least two independent reviewers. Most of our journals review double-blind; the journal page states which policy applies.
Reviewers recommend; editors decide. You will receive the reviews with the decision letter, and a route to appeal a decision you believe was made on a factual error.
Editors are responsible for scope decisions, reviewer selection, timeliness and the confidentiality of everything under review. Editors who are authors on a submission take no part in handling it.
Review the work, not the author. Return a report that a revising author can act on, declare any competing interest, and treat the manuscript as confidential.
Register on the platform of the journal closest to your field and add your expertise keywords, or write to us and we will pass your details to the relevant editor.
Send a rationale, a provisional call for papers and the names of the guest editors to the journal editor. Special issues follow the same review standard as regular issues.
Charges differ by journal and are stated on each journal page. Where a journal levies an article processing charge, authors without funding may request a full or partial waiver, and the decision is taken separately from the review.
